THE VINEYARDS OF "LA VOIE D'HERACLES "

Héraclès and the vine :

Result of the combination of wine producers from 5 villages, Aigues-Vives, Codognan, Le Cailar, Mus and Vergèze, the vineyard of La voie d?Heracles extends along the ancient Greek route traced by Héraclès in the VIIth century before J-C, period of the introduction of the vine into the South of France. The Romans named this route "Via Domitia", after the governor Domitius was charged with the task of linking the Pyrenees to the Rhone.

Vines and landscapes :

Between the Camargue and the Garrigues, in the foothills of the Cevennes, our vineyards extend through more than 800 hectares. It is full of variation, as much for its varieties of grape as for its terrain. Here, the intense sunshine, soft sea breezes which alternate with the harsh mistral together with a great temperature variation between the day and night, make for perfect grape maturing conditions. A careful selection in the vineyard, followed by a watchful wine making ensures expressive wines smooth to the palate.

Organic wines

A project initiated in partnership with the Perrier Source at the beginning of the 1990s, the vineyard of la Voie d'Héraclès, anxious to preserve its exceptional soils, today generates wines resulting from organic agriculture (certified ECOCERT).
The protected surface of the vineyard dedicated to organic production extends for more than 240 hectares, placing the winery as the largest producer in France.
