WINERY OF THE WINE PRODUCERS OF REMOULINS

The Wine producers of Remoulins :

The Winery was created in 1929. This was the first village of the appellation contrôlée Côtes du Rhône domain coming from Nîmes. It is also on the way if you go and admire the famous landmark "le Pont du Gard", an aqueduct built during the time of Emperor Claude some 2000 years ago. The origins of the vines in the commune go back to the XIIth century. At that time the vines had already spread to Arnède, Coqueron and Rabasse. Continuing with traditional methods, the wine producers cultivate the vines on gravely quaternary terraces (yellowish pebbles: quartzite).

Vineyards and Wines :

The sunshine is very strong here, and the maturity of the polyphenolic compounds is early. Vines destined for the Côtes du Rhône appelation: 140 ha 35% Syrah and 60% Grenache, produces wines of renowned quality, well balanced, with aromas of blackcurrants - quince in the bouquets, kirsches – oaky flavours form the maturing casks. A guarantee to ageing well.
The remainder of the vineyard, on the old river beds of the Gardon next to the famous aqueduct, is classified as Côteaux du Pont du Gard. Its wines, an amalgamation of various types of grapes: grenache, cinsault, carignan, express a tender but diluted sweetness for the reds and an elegant fruitiness for the rosés; always with great delicacy.

The artisan winery remains attached to traditional values and bestows flavours coming from its soils and its craftsmanship to its wines.
