LES CLAUX DES TOURETTES

In the foothills of the Cevennes :

Les Claux des Tourettes (SCA) was formed in 2003 from the union of Wine producers from "Claux" at Cruviers Lascours (SCA) and "Tourettes" at Ners(SCA). In 2005, "les Vignerons des Deux Villages" at Ribaute les Tavernes (SCA) joined to complete the group. Established in the foothills of the Cevennes between Nîmes and Alès, the vineyards of Claux des Tourettes (SCA) today represent 1,100 hectares dispersed throughout 22 communes of the Gard region (30).

Types of vine and landscape

The diversity of terrains and microclimates makes possible, after a careful process of selection, the production of an extensive and diverse range of wines. The production (75,000 hectolitres annually) is mainly focussed on "Vins de Pays d'Oc" which accounts for 70% of the capacity. In addition, we also produce "Vins de Pays du Duché d'Uzès, Vins de Pays des Cévennes, and Vins de Pays du Gard".

Grape Varieties .

The type of vines most typically used for the conception and production of our "Vins de Pays d'Oc" are Merlot, Syrah and Sauvignon Cabernet.
Our rosé wines are produced mainly from Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault grapes.
Where white wines are concerned, we use Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier grapes.

More traditionally Mediterranean grapes varieties are used in the composition of our "Vins de Pays du Duché d'Uzès", such as Syrah, Grenache and Carignan for the red wines, Syrah and Grenache for the rosé wines, and Viognier, Roussane and Grenache Blanc grapes for the white wines.
